Unleash your creativity and experience the joy of this traditional technique, known for its accessible materials, which not only results in a lightweight yet durable structure, but also allows us to experiment with various textures, making it ideal for future individual projects.
You are registering for a workshop which spans 3 consecutive days, with each session lasting two hours.
Wednesday, September 4th: On the first day of the we will create clay molds of your unique character designs.
Thursday, September 5th: The second day will be dedicated to the papier-mâché application.
Friday, September 6th: On the final day, we'll remove the puppet heads from the molds and work on painting and decorating.
Duygu Bayar Ekren is an author, puppeteer, and puppet designer. After completing her puppetry training at the Krastyo Sarafov National Academy of Theater and Film Arts in Sofia, Duygu participated in various puppet theater productions in Turkey and Bulgaria. She conducted workshops on puppet making and manipulation, and most recently, she participated in the Object Movement Puppetry Festival residency program. Duygu finds endless fascination in the whimsical and ethereal wisdom of puppets, along with the unique narratives, textures, and designs they bring to life. She is enchanted by the profound power of non-verbal communication and diverse storytelling techniques through puppetry. See her work on Instagram.
