About the event
Join puppeteer and fiber artist J Hann in this hands-on introduction to the wonderful art of needle felting. In addition to learning all the techniques to master how to shape wool- you will discover how to incorporate needle felting into the design of your own unique puppet characters.
In one three hour session, participants will craft intuitively, creating their own hand puppet head.
Materials fee including felting needles, needle holder, finger protectors, etc. is $7 per person.
J Hann (they/them) is a puppeteer, actor, and fiber artist. Their weird and whimsical works have been performed in Italy, Greece, Serbia, Hong Kong, nationally, and in various venues in New York City. J was recently an Emerging Artist at this year’s Eugene O’Neill Puppetry Conference where they developed their own queer-centric fiber arts puppetry piece entitled Bequeathed. Previously they were a resident artist twice at the Object Movement Puppet Festival. When not performing, J shares their love of puppetry to students of all ages. www.jennyhann.com Instagram: @jhannham
