About the event
In this intimate artist talk, world-renowned director, singer, and puppeteer Yael Rasooly explores her journey of transforming vulnerability and limitation into a global career spanning over 30 countries. Through a rich tapestry of stories, visuals, and collaborations with Europe’s leading contemporary puppetry companies, Yael dives into the heart of independent theater—from artistic essence to practical tools.
This masterclass invites participants to reconnect with their personal voice and creative intentions. At its core, Yael offers a rare glimpse into her latest performance trilogy—a 20 year journey addressing violence against women and children—addressing the tension between the personal and the political, fear and conviction, and why adult puppetry is the answer.
Through live demonstrations with her puppets of Edith Piaf and Marlene Dietrich, Yael will also offer a glimpse into the fundamental technique and artistry of character animation.
