An Introduction to the Art of Stone Carving

Led by sculptor, Justin Perlman, this beginners workshop will introduce the materials and methods of stone carving.  For the individual who has been curious about this ancient art form, this 4 hour work shop will be a primer.  Justin will be discussing with live demonstration,  various stone carving techniques. Discussions will cover a review of  classic hand tools and technologies, as well as modern diamond tools.  Participants will also have the opportunity to try carving their own piece of limestone with guided instruction. This workshop is conducted outside so dress accordingly.

It is recommended that participants wear boots and bring leather garden or work gloves. Please also bring your own water bottle.
