About the event
What is the Alexander Technique? The Alexander Technique allows us to use our bodies more efficiently. Through emotional and physical stress over time, we can develop habits of tension. By enlivening our awareness we can choose to free ourselves from these habits and rediscover the full potential of our bodies. Dana will facilitate your process through hands-on guidance as well as verbal instruction to enhance your overall awareness.
Participants only need to wear comfortable clothing they can move in that fully covers their armpits and abdominal areas.
Dana Calvey specializes in Alexander Technique group teaching and is certified by both ATI and AmSat. She values helping her students uncover deeper layers of themselves, and gain further possibilities for movement, coordination, and inner being. Dana teaches performing artists in NYC at Manhattan School of Music, The Barrow Group, T. Schreiber Studio, and The American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Her masterclasses include Yale School of Sacred Music, New Jersey Shakespeare, and Stonybrook College.
